Softening Silence

It was a war

a battle I was losing

It was heated

my head was boiling

It was confusing

my heart was racing 

It was tough

I needed a break

I needed to get out

To exhale what I was breathing

It came to me in a whisper

and slowed down

my heart beatings

It surrounded me with his coolness
